The foods you eat directly affects the performance of your brain. It has been proven that by eating the right food, you can boost your IQ, improve your mood, be more emotionally stable, sharpen your memory and keep your mind young. If you give your brain the right nutrients, you will be able to think quicker, have a better memory, be better coordinated and balanced and have improved concentration. The three key brain foods to boost your brainpower and keep your brain healthy and your mental processes operating effectively are nutritious food, water and oxygen:Smart Foods for increasing brain power:Blueberries: A lot of people dont even know that blueberries are not only delicious, but they are good for your short-term memory. The reason for this is because they are very rich in anti-oxidants, which fight off free radicals. Free-radicals are what exist in everyday life such as indoor and outdoor pollution. These free-radicals affect our memory and concentration, but the anti-oxidant power in blueberries keeps these free-radicals from attacking our brain capacity. In a laboratory study in Boston, scientists gave one group of rats a diet rich in blueberries. They gave the other group of rats a diet with no blueberries at all. What they found in this study was that the blueberries stave off declines in our brains abilities to send messages to one another. So in other words, blueberries actually work as an anti-aging remedy for our brains.Fish: Fish are great in helping your overall brainpower, mental clarity, and memory as well. The reason for this is that they are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. These fatty acids improve brain function. The fatty acid is also known as DHA. There are studies that show that diets that are low in DHA are linked to alzheimer’s disease and memory loss.Tomatoes: There is some powerful evidence to suggest that the lycopene found in tomatoes and tomato products such as ketchup are good for your brain. This wonderful nutrient, lycopene, is naturally very abundant in the tomato fruit.Pumpkin Seeds: Pumpkin Seeds are also a natural way to improve your memory and brain function. The reason for this is these seeds are naturally packed with anti-oxidants and are full of Omega-3 fatty acids, which is an excellent brain-boosting nutrient.Wild Salmon: Salmon and other deep,cold-water fish are rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids. Omega-3s are essential for brain function and also contain anti- inflammatory substances. Other oily fish that provide the benefits of omega-3s are sardines and herring. **Recommendation: Add a 4-ounce serving of salmon or other Omega-3 rich fish to your diet two to three times a week.Citrus Fruits and Colorful Vegetables: Because of their antioxidant properties, citrus fruits and colorful vegetables are high on the list of brainy foods . The more colorful the better. Brightly colored yellow, orange, red, purple and green fruits and vegetables are antioxidant rich. Go for orange with carrots, apricots, cantaloupe, mango, papaya and oranges. Blueberries, blackberries, prunes, red grapes and eggplant add a blue/purple hue to your plate. Add red to your diet with cherries, tomoatoes and red pepper. The best antioxidant source of green vegetables are found in the dark green vegetables – spinach, kale, romaine lettuce, brusell sproats, broccoli. **Recommendation: As many colorful vegetables as you can, with an absolute minimum of five servings daily. Since colorful fruits are higher in calories, add two to four servings daily to your diet. Increase Water Intake: Given that your brain is about 80 percent water, the first rule of brain nutrition is adequate water to hydrate your brain. Even slight dehydration can raise stress hormones which can damage your brain over time. Drink at least 84 ounces of water a day. It is best to have your liquids unpolluted with artificial sweeteners, sugar, caffeine, or alcohol. You can use herbal, non-caffeinated tea bags, such as raspberry or strawberry flavored, and make unsweetened iced tea. Green tea is also good for brain function as it contains chemicals that enhance mental relaxation and alertness.Nuts and Seeds: Nuts and seeds are an excellent source of the power antioxidant Vitamin E. Studies show that higher levels of vitamin E correspond with less cognitive decline. Sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, flax seed, walnuts, hazelnuts, Brazil nuts, filberts, almonds, cashews, peanuts and unhydrogenated nut butters all provde benefits. **Recommendation: Add an ounce of nuts or seeds to your daily diet. Be careful that you do not overdo this brain-booster. Too much of this higgher calorie food will add to your waistline.Beans: Beans stabilize glucose (blood sugar) levels. The brain cannot store glucose and The brain is dependent on glucose for fuel yet cannot store glucose. Beans rpovide steady stream of energy, as well as a high amount of fiber. With so many varieties – black beans, lima beans, pinto, kidney, garbanzo,Great Northern, Navy and others – it’s easy to add variety in this under-recognized super food section. Peas and lentils, other foods in the legume family, also provide benefit. Add at least a 1/2 cup of beans or other legumes to your diet every day.Whole Grains: Oatmeal, brown rice, whole-grain breads, popcorn and barley prmotoe cardiovascular health and good blood flow throughout the organ system, which includes the brain. Wheat germ, though not technically a whole grain, also goes on the superfoods list because wheat germ adds fiber, Vitamin E and some omega-3s. Add three slices of whole grain bread, a 1/2 cup of oatmeal or other whole-grain cereal, or two tablespoons of wheat germ to your daily diet.Freshly Brewed Tea: Whether it is hot or iced, freshly brewed tea contains a modest amount of caffeine which, when used in moderation, can boost brain power by enhancing memory, focus, and mood. Tea also has potent antioxidants, especially the class known as catechines, which promotes healthy blood flow. Green tea contains chemicals that enhance mental relaxation and alertness and is especially good for brain function. Two to three cups a day of freshly brewed tea. Note that bottled or powdered teas dont count.Dark Chocolate: Dark chocolate contains several natural stimulants, including caffeine, which enhance focus and concentration, have powerful antioxidant properties and stimulate the production of endorphins to helps improve mood. Like nuts, seeds and avocado, this is another brain- boosting super food to be used in moderation. Enjoy 1/2 ounce of dark chocolate daily. Note that the more processed chocolate varieties such as milk chocolate and white chocolate do not provide the same amount of benefit as dark chocolate. Reference: HealthOnclick

I have always been fascinated by the question ,why some people can and others can’t? I spent years trying to figure this out. At first it was mainly for myself. I remember growing up with little confidence and under the impression that others were more capable than I was. The fact was that this impression was true. It was true because i believed it.
Best Smartphone Software

Almost daily in the news we see reports of chocolate’s health benefits. It’s a potent antioxidant, and is chock-full of chemicals and nutrients that have been attributed to making us happy. Yet many of us remain skeptical; eating lots of chocolate doesn’t seem to make us feel better, and in fact can lower energy levels for awhile. So what gives? If chocolate is such a miracle food, shouldn’t we be able to eat it all the time, without guilt and feel great? Well, yes, we can, but the way chocolate is prepared is crucial to unlocking its true potential as a health food. If you’d like to learn how to have a healthy dose of chocolate daily, read on…

Like so many things in our modern world, its the processing of chocolate that makes all the difference. This isn’t just the New Age Hippy types saying this either (as one, the author feels comfortable making this statement). Food chemists and researchers who analyze the molecular makeup of our diets are of the same opinion. It’s RAW, minimally-processed chocolate that’s the miracle food. Un-roasted, un-cooked plain old powdered chocolate, better known as ‘Cacao’, is far superior in every way for your health. Cacao is one of the few foods on the planet now being called a ’super’-food, as it’s nutrient density is so high and its health benefits are so great. Note that ‘organic’ does not mean ‘raw’. Even the premium organic hot-chocolate powders found in the high-end health food stores is still roasted and usually processed with alkali (called ‘Dutch Processing’, making it easier to dissolve in water, and destroying most of the antioxidants at the same time). This means that 99% of the chocolate products on the shelves are NOT the superfood you wished they were, but it also points the direction to how to include chocolate in your life on an exceptionally health daily basis. We’ll get to some recipes in a moment, but first a few points to help you remember why raw chocolate is where it’s at.

First the question of Caffeine. Many folks are sensitive to caffeine’s effect on their nervous system. It raises blood pressure, shortens tempers and keeps people awake. There are however, significant differences in the alkaloid structures of raw and roasted chocolate. Raw chocolate’s stimulation comes primarily from theobromine, which has little anxiety producing effects. Studies by natural wellness professionals and user reports both note that while commercially prepared dark chocolate has a very stimulating action that caffeine sensitive individuals may find too strong, an equivalent amount of raw cacao does not. The stimulating effects are reported mild, gentle, and without a ‘crash’ that is often associated with caffeine. A reason for mothers to think about creating their own raw chocolate treats for their children, too. The jury is still out on the actual amount if caffeine in raw chocolate; some investigators have found none, some have found small amounts in the ’skin’ of the cacao beans, and others of found only small amounts in beans that have fermented somewhat (an indication of a lower-quality cacao). Either way, if you’ve refrained from chocolate because of it’s caffeine content, raw cacao may just be your answer to enjoying this treat again.

The really big news about chocolate has been it’s antioxidant profile. Chocolate contains significant amounts of polyphenols — the same important antioxidants found in green tea, red wine and green apples — but in greater amounts. Dark chocolate contains an impressive 5% of these compounds, yet raw chocolate is made up of an incredible 10% concentration of these possibly life-extending molecules. Both roasting and processing with alkali (to make Dutch cocoa) reduce antioxidant concentration. Further, the increased absorbability of powdered raw cacao (perhaps the most versatile form of raw chocolate) over cacao nibs give them an edge in ORAC value, a measure of Oxidative Radical Absorbance Capacity.

Maybe the most intriguing constituents of chocolate are it’s mood-altering chemicals besides its stimulation. Many users of raw chocolate find and even greater boost than from commercial chocolates. Like caffeine, some of the molecules attributed to mood-enhancement are also heat sensitive. Tryptophan, a precursor to serotonin, is present in significant amounts and is known to be broken down by heat (and apparently it’s not the Tryptophan in the turkey dinners that makes one tired, it’s the three servings followed by pie and ice cream!). Other natural constituents are dopamine and precursors to dopamine, one molecule called the ‘love chemical’ and another called the ‘bliss chemical’. Add to these monoamine oxidase inhibitors which actually enhance the activity of all of the above mood brighteners. Finally, there’s lots of easily absorbed magnesium in raw chocolate, a mineral associated with serotonin production (many pharmaceutical antidepressants increase serotonin activity), and the ability to relax. Raw chocolate offers the healthiest and most effective means of adding these happy-making nutrients to your daily diet.

Need more be said? Ready for some recipes? The simplest means of eating raw chocolate is snacking on cacao nibs. These are small pieces of cacao beans that mix well with natural granolas or dried fruit. For the absolute most profound positive effects on your health, AND the most versatile form of raw chocolate for your recipes, pre-powdered raw chocolate is the best choice. The powder can be added to any drink, or easily made into bars, drops or other shaped candies. By far the most often enjoyed recipe for raw chocolate powder is the simple chocolate drink: Put one heaping tablespoon raw cacao powder, one teaspoon raw agave nectar, and one teaspoon high quality coconut oil in a blender (note that coconut oil quality varies greatly – a good coconut oil should taste pleasant by itself and have no chemical or rancid flavor which would otherwise be noticed in your chocolate drink). Add eight to twelve ounces of hot (but not boiling water) and blend at low speed for about ten seconds. That’s it; Chocolate magic that’s easily adjusted to your tastes — experimenting in whatever way comes to mind is highly encouraged.

There are lots and lots of recipes out there, and great reading on raw chocolate’s health benefits and preparation. You’ll cacao powder often combined with other super nutritious foods in smoothies and good-for-you deserts. Natural organic candies start with the same ingredients as the drinks, but without the liquid. Mixing the chocolate and coconut oil is easiest with your hands (as this gently melts the coconut oil) — making a paste to which you can add any little natural crunchy treats. As you’re not baking anything, there’s little to go awry, and really, so many possibilities. By using raw chocolate, you’ll open up a whole new world of cooking for yourself and your family — and if you hadn’t before, you might just find yourself really motivated to treat yourself to natural health and wellness.

The use and awareness of super foods and natural healing modalities is on the rise. In addition to being a raw-food chef, the author is an amateur aromatherapist, enjoying the aromas and flavors of organic essential oils.
mortgages Spain

Are you ready to look younger, have more energy and increased mental capacity instantly? You might not realize that the quality of your thinking can be effected drastically by the food you eat. When your body has to spend its recourses, like B vitamins and micro nutrients, on staying alive – you have less energy for your brain. In fact, even digesting your food can take away brain power. Hence the lack of concentration and energy after lunch.
Robbing Peter to pay Paul
This type of nutritional trade off goes on every day inside your entire system. That is why it is so important for every organ and system in your body to get the nutrition it needs on a daily basis. This is how you can maintain the energy level you desire without caffeine or stimulants.
My favorite way to drink supergreen food is to mix it in grape juice, that way it has a mild taste, mixes instantly and really packs a punch! Unlike so many other greens in pill or powder from, this one keeps on delivering a healthy, natural buzz every time! You can find many super green foods put there but taste matters!
Super green energy formulas often provide a rich source of absolutely every nutrient the body requires and provides optimal health. Super green foods have vitamins, minerals, enzymes, phytonutrients and antioxidants. These super green foods have beneficial nutrients that have been proven to help prevent many diseases like cancer, cardio-vascular diseases and arthritis. It is also why you experience a natural energy rush whenever you take them!
All people can benefit from supergreen foods. They improve energy levels and are the perfect addition for weight loss programs. Super green foods increase stamina, endurance and reduce recover time from any physical activity.
Have you considered adding super green food to your diet? Many folks have experienced the rush of energy and clarity that comes from a shot of super green nutrition. It can be as simple as adding one heaping teaspoon of super green food to your diet every day in a smoothie or glass of juice.
Super green nutrients will also help your digestive process as well as your skin texture. Most super green foods contain chlorella, which is filled with chlorophyll. This natural substance boosts your energy, naturally cleans and detoxifies your body and boosts your immune system. This cleansing is good for your colon, liver and stomach. Super green foods have so many nutritional benefits – it’s hard to believe this much energy is derived from a tiny algae.
Super energy facts about super green food
Super green food is a term for micro algae that grow in fresh water. The most common forms are chlorella and spirulina. These small plants have the ability to provide all the nutrients required by the human body. These microscopic micro algae prove that the best foods for you are most certainly green. You can have more energy in an instant all thanks to a billion year old blue green algae.
Super green foods contain all known B vitamins including B12 which is rarely found in plants. It also contains vitamin C and E among others, macro minerals: calcium, magnesium, zinc, potassium, omega-3 fatty acids, beta-carotene, nuclei acids and protein. Did you know that one teaspoon of super green food has more calcium then milk and provides 12 times more digestible protein then beef. Super green foods can also remove toxins and heavy metals from your body naturally and safely. I have personally found the super greens supplements to be superior to other vitamin routines I have tried because of it’s instant results. Using a green supplement regularly has been helpful with digestive issues and regularity too.
The best way to eat super green foods is in a powder form because your body can easily absorb all the nutrients. Super green food is a whole food – not a supplement. Supplements are often made from chemicals or ground up minerals. Your body was not designed to digest chemically produced food or crushed seashells. vitamin pills are big and hard and take time to break down in your system, sometimes taking more energy to digest than you get from taking them.
Super greens are natural whole foods, which makes them easy to digest – very fast. This gives you a super boost of super energy. Try a teaspoon of super green powder with a cup of juice after lunch. This healthy and natural buzz can turn your long afternoon into your most productive time of day! Best of all you will have the energy you need to spend time with your family and enjoy it!

Whole food supplements are often the most effective way to boost your immune system, metabolism and energy levels. The very best Whole food supplements are made from concentrated whole foods commonly called super green foods.
These super green foods contain a variety of whole green foods, each containing concentrated nutrients. The vitamins provided by these whole food supplements are not isolated. They are highly complex structures that combine a variety of enzymes, coenzymes, antioxidants, trace elements, as well as many other compounds that work together synergistically.
These complex specific combinations that form naturally in whole foods are important because it enables this vitamin complex What vitamin cmplex? to work for your body. It is not nearly as healthy or helpful to tear apart the natural nutrients within this complex system. Even science cannot take these nutrients apart and isolate them from the whole and create the same synergistic energy that whole foods give. Why would we expect synthetic vitamins and minerals to do the same job in the body as a natural, whole complex is designed to do? Your body can tell the difference between synthetically produced nutrients and natural nutrition.
Overall, whole foods nourish us much more than refined foods because they contain complex combinations of nutrients. Whole foods like super green foods are based on blue green algaes, grasses and other foods that have concentrated nutrition. These are nutritional elements your body can easily digest, absorb and utilize immediately. Whole foods are bio available, which means your body can use these nutrients immediately.
It takes very little energy to digest and absorb these whole foods which makes them especially valuable for people who need quick physical recovery, children, the elderly or people who are sick. Having a quick source of super concentrated nutrition can be a life saver for everyone at some point.
Many people call super green foods the miracle food. This could be because super green whole foods have been found to assist cellular metabolism. It also helps you maintain blood sugar levels and because of its high alkaline content, it also helps neutralize excess acidity. This Excess acidity can lead to acid reflux and painful digestion.
Many naturopaths believe that our processed, fast food diets contribute to a general acidity associated with disease and lowered immune response.
Super green whole foods can help a variety of illnesses.
As a supplement, Chlorella (from super green foods) has been shown to help reduce pain in fibromyalgia and reduce blood pressure and blood fat in hypertension. Chlorella also attaches to heavy metals and dioxin to help eliminate them naturally from the body. Chlorella has been found to help prevent the growth of tumors because of its glycoproteins that enhance the migration of T cells to tumor sites.
Another common ingredient is Spirulina. Spirulina contains unusually high amounts of protein, between 55 and 77% by dry weight, depending upon the source. It is a complete protein containing all essential amino acids. It is rich in other vitamins, amino acids and protein, such as that from from what
Super green whole food supplements are incredibly cost effective. You can have a super green energy drink for less than a dollar a day. This is much cheaper than the handful of chemically produced vitamin pills you might already eat. Literally -for less than a cup of coffee- you can have all the nutrition your body needs plus a burst of healthy quick energy.

The risk of developing cancer has become one of the most thought provoking issues of our time. Worldwide statistics show that as bountious as 10.9 million people are diagnosed with some form of cancer every year. As research into the food we eat becomes augmented complex and innovative, it reveals that there are numerous ’super foods’ which not only fight cancer cells, but can also support to stave off it from ever occurring.

What is Cancer and Why Is It Greater Prevailing Than Ever?

All living things are comprised of a range of cells, such as kidney cells, brain cells and skin cells.

Cancer develops when a particular cell mutates, then begins to grow and divide. Eventually, these cells form a mass called a malignant tumor, which often starts to invade surrounding tissue and organs.

Are Super Foods The Way To Go?

It is thought that up to one third of cancer related deaths could be diet related. Many of the foods we eat today can in fact be harmful to the cells in our bodies, particularly ‘rapid food’, which often takes in steep rates of saturated fat.

A considerable European study has recently shown that ‘junk food’ may in fact be a primary basis of cancer of the pancreas, the urinary tract and of the womb, which makes saturated fat especially breakneck for women. There is however, an abundance of super foods that comprise cancer fighting anti-oxidants and enzymes. These foods fall into a number of categories and it is greatest to look at their properties separately.

Fruit and Vegetables

Time and time again we are reminded of natures way of maintaining a sustaining body. Raw carrots are rich in beta carotene and substances called falcarinol and polyacethylens, which can help to impede a wide diversity of cancer including, breast, stomach, throat, lung, prostate, bladder and intestinal. Sweet potatoes are thought to have a number of cancer fighting properties including carotenoids (beta carotene is one form). Turnips and their leaves contain a substance called glucose molaes, which is said to attack cancer cells.

Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale and sprouts are rich in the anti-oxidants; lutein and zeaxanthin which are thought to be particularly affective at inhibiting breast and prostate cancer. Broccoli and sprouts also incorporate a substance called phytochemical sulforaphane, which is a by-product of glucoraphanin and is especially useful at impeding bowel cancer. Kale is thought to retain indoles, which are nitrogen compounds and are said to limit lesions in estrogen sensitive areas, such as the ovaries, mutating into cancerous cells.

Beetroot is full of anti-oxidants that specifically attack lung cancer cells.

Tomatoes carry vitamin C and a carotenoid called lycopene that fights oxygen molecules which are also known as ‘free radicals’. Free radicals are often believed to trigger cancer cells. Lycopene is notable in its aptitude to aid the joust against rectal and colon cancer, as well as prostate, breast, mouth and cancer of the pancreas. Cooked and canned/pureed tomatoes are said to be especially concentrated in lycopene.

Avocados have prolific amounts of an anti-oxidant called glutathione. Glutathione attacks free radicals and stops the absorption of certain saturated fats into the intestine. Avocados incorporate exorbitant levels of beta-carotene and potassium, which is also very gainful for the heart. Citrus fruits, such as oranges, grapefruits, lemons and limes possess stiff amounts of vitamin C, folic acid and monoterpenes, which can a helping hand to dispose of carcinogens from the body and are believed to repress cancer cells.Papayas carry prolific amounts of vitamin C and folic acid, which are both highly practical anti-cancer components.

Soya bean products such as tofu include phytoestrogens and isoflavones, which when absorbed in sensible amounts (no deeper than four or five ounces per day) are thought to block and relief repress cancer cells from forming and are particularly associated with lowering the risk of breast cancer. Incidences of breast cancer are significantly lower in Asian countries where soy products are consumed regularly. However, caution must be exercised, as research suggests that eating too much soy may basis hormone imbalances which can in fact stimulate cancer cells.

Figs comprise a form of benzaldehyde, which is renowned for its adeptness to shrink tumors. Grapes, particularly the red varieties, include resveratrol and ellagic acid which combine to block the enzymes that are responsible for the success of cancer cells. They also subsume strong anti-oxidants called bioflavonoids. Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and other berries that are red or black in color consist of a wide variation of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, and plant compounds that are thought to be very worthy against multitudinous forms of cancer.

Herbs and Spices

Rosemary is said to have detoxifying properties and can repress the advancement of tumors. Laboratory tests have revealed that it is principally sufficient against breast and skin tumors. Tumeric belongs to the ginger family and it is thought to help reduce the inflammation that is connected to stomach, bowel and colon cancer.

Root ginger has been used by Chinese medics for centuries and is well regarded for its various healing benefits. It can be used as a spice in savoury and sweet dishes and as a herbal tea. Garlic is well renowned for its blood thinning and anti-bacterial properties. It can also support to wipe out oxidants that purpose cancer, such as carcinogens and free radicals. Eating raw or cooked garlic has been found to be far numerous compelling than taking garlic supplements.

Licorice root takes in a chemical called glycyrrhizin which is considered to help block the maturation of prostate cancer cells, though an excessive consuming of licorice can lead to raised blood pressure. Chilli peppers are rich in a substance called capsaicin that is regarded to be a preventative against intestinal cancer.

Beverages

Black, green and white teas retain antioxidants which are also known as polyphenols. These antioxidants are considered to expressly defend against cancer cells and stop them from dividing and spreading. White and green tea is regarded as being particularly efficient against lung, colon, rectal and stomach cancer as well as cancer of the liver and pancreas.

Who doesn’t like red wine? Red wine also takes in polyphenols and a substance called resveratrol which has been discovered to be present in grape skin. These antioxidants are known to counter free radicals. It is thought that the pinot noir grape range takes in the largest amounts of resveratrol, particularly in wines where the grapes are grown in cooler, rainy climates, such as Chile in South America. If However, alcohol is consumed in gigantic amounts it can actually be a antecedent of cancer, so it is greatest drink no deeper than one glass of red wine per day.

There are numerous other foods that are considered to be excellent cancer preventatives. Seaweed and sea vegetables subsume fiber, proteins, beta-carotene, folic acid, and a fatty acid called chlorophylone. These forms of vegetable are said to a helping hand counter breast cancer. Nuts and seeds are naturally stiff in omega-3 fatty acid, which is essential for brain function. Nuts also emcompass a mineral called selenium and are rich in antioxidants such as quercetin and campferol. Nuts and seeds are regarded as primarily sufficient at repelling prostate and colon cancer cells, as well as being a natural preventative against the threat of heart disease.

Mushrooms have prolific amounts of potent compounds called polysaccharides. These compounds are thought to build up resistance against cancer cells. Certain varieties of mushroom are perceived to be particularly efficient, these include; reishi, shiitake and maitake, and are widely used in Japanese cuisine.

The benefits of eating a energy-giving, balanced diet have become deeper apparent as research into cancer and other destructive diseases evolve. A diet rich in vegetables, fruit and lean meat is much more of a priority in our daily lives than it was twenty years ago and medical advice suggests that eating at least five portions of fruit or vegetables per day can significantly lower the risk of bounteous forms of cancer and heart infirmity, as well as preventing obesity. The threat of obesity is a volatile contention and for the basic time in many years the life expectancy of our children is thought to be lower than our own, which is an extremely worrying statistic.

Show me a single human being that isn’t interested in health related nutrition, preventing diseases and slowing the aging process – if you are that single person, this article is of no interest to you, sorry.

You are still reading..well, aren’t we all..?

Fruits, vegetables, red meat, fish, red wine etc. – what should we eat, when and how much ? What vitamins, minerals, and trace elements should we add to our diet? And the questions just keep on piling-up…

Where are the answers? Is there a new discovery not known to all of us? THERE IS – Antioxidants.

You’re right it is not a fruit, nor is it a vegetable however, scientific studies revealed that this is, by far, the most important substance we should all be looking for in our food, and the higher the antioxidant level, the better.

What is an Antioxidant?

Antioxidants are substances that protect cells from the damages caused by unstable molecules known as Free Radicals. Free radical damages lead to cancer as well as rapid aging. Antioxidants interact with and stabilize free radicals, thus preventing the damages. The National Cancer Institute wrote “…considerable laboratory evidence from chemical, cell culture, and animal studies indicates that antioxidants slow or possibly prevent the development of cancer…”

How and Why?

Free radicals are molecules with incomplete electron shells which make them more chemically reactive than those with complete electron shells. Exposure to various environmental factors (we are all exposed to all of them!) leads to free radical formation. In humans, the most common form of free radicals is Oxygen. When an Oxygen molecule (O2) becomes electrically charged or “radicalized”, it tries to steal electrons from other molecules, causing damage to the DNA and other molecules. Over time, such damage, if not taken care of, become irreversible and leads to cancer and speedy aging. Antioxidants are often described as “mopping up” free radicals, meaning, they neutralize the electrical charge and prevent the free radicals from taking electrons from other molecules.

O.k., now that we know what’s the most important substance for our Health, Wellness and Longevity, let us examine what’s out there for us to consume..

The scientists at the National Institute on Aging, NIH, Maryland, came up with a method to let us know who has the best available Antioxidants (by “who”, I mean which food..). This method is called ORAC – Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity.

There is ONE STAR that is way-up in the ORAC test. It was not known to the western world until recently. This STAR is 10 times stronger than anything we knew !!! You surely wonder what this ORAC STAR is, well, a little bit of patience…

We are told to consume 5-7 fruit & vegetable servings every single day (ha ha..), drink a glass of red wine every single day (a good idea but, how on earth ??) and so on and on and on..come on, get realistic – we are all so busy that we hardly find the time to eat properly!

Would someone PLEASE get us a SINGLE (or max 2) FOOD Product that when consumed, will provide our body with all (or most) of what’s needed ? PLEASE!?

Guess what ? – ACAI !!!

This strange word is A SINGLE Fruit’s name. Here’s what this magic fruit includes:

A M A Z I N G!!!

Here’s a SINGLE FOOD ITEM, ACAI, that is, literally, a “LIFE IN A BOTTLE” !

Where can we get it?

Well, we could climb 90ft high palm trees in the Amazon rainforest (that’s the only place on earth the ACAI grows) or, we could buy variations which are available on the market place. There are a few ACAI products (or, so-called..Acai products) out there which one can choose from. I investigated almost all of them (and they are not cheap but, can you put a price tag on your health..?).

To my humble opinion (well, not only mine, read the P.S.) there is only 1 Acai product that enables us to get the majority of the outstanding content. The reason being is the manufacturing process. This manufacturer uses a combination of Acai pulp and freeze-dried powder in its scientifically formulated blends. This fruit drying method (which, by the way, is patented), retains all the natural goodness of the fresh ACAI – A TRUE BLESSING TO ALL OF US!

This article has been written for your general knowledge, and has no intention of selling you anything..If you are genuinely interested in exploring the essence of this magical fruit, you will have to email me (you may find my email in the resource box – no spam!).

Working for Your Health,

David Smith

P.S.

Here’s what Dr. Alex Schass, the World’s leading

independent researcher, said about the benefits of

this drink on OPRAH’s :

ACAI

Nature’s Energy Fruit

It may seem odd to start this list of superfoods with one you’ve likely never even heard of. But studies have shown that this little berry is one of the most nutritious and powerful foods in the world! Acai (ah-sigh-ee) is the high-energy berry of a special Amazon palm tree.

Harvested in the rainforests of Brazil, Acai tastes like a vibrant blend of berries and chocolate. Hidden within its royal purple pigment is the magic that makes it nature’s perfect energy fruit. Acai is packed full of antioxidants, amino acids and essential fatty acids. Although Acai may not be available in your local supermarket, you can find it in several health food and gourmet stores (often in juice form). A new product featuring the unsweetened pulp is now also available, and I highly recommend that you choose this form of Acai.

Acai pulp contains:

* A remarkable concentration of antioxidants that help combat premature aging, with 10 times more antioxidants than red grapes and 10 to 30 times the anthocyanins of red wine.

* A synergy of monounsaturated (healthy) fats, dietary fiber and phytosterols to help promote cardiovascular and digestive health.

* An almost perfect essential amino acid complex in conjunction with valuable trace minerals, vital to proper muscle contraction and regeneration.

The fatty acid content in Acai resembles that of olive oil, and is rich in monounsaturated oleic acid. Oleic acid is important for a number of reasons. It helps omega-3 fish oils penetrate the cell membrane; together they help make cell membranes more supple. By keeping the cell membrane supple, all hormones, neurotransmitter and insulin receptors function more efficiently. This is particularly important because high insulin levels create an inflammatory state, and we know, inflammation causes aging.

Many people believe that the primary cause of osteoporosis is the lack of calcium in their diet. However, in the overall picture, calcium is only a small piece of the puzzle. Though calcium supplements can certainly help, there are other dietary concerns that need to be examined.
Actually, the primary dietary cause of osteoporosis is the eating foods that are highly acidic in nature, such as refined white sugar, refined white flour, high-fructose corn syrup, soft drinks, cookies, candies, sweets, desserts, and anything containing sweeteners.
The over-consumption of these products causes the pH level in your blood to become very acidic. In an attempt to counterbalance this, your body reaches out for any calcium and magnesium it can find, and releases those into your bloodstream in an attempt to keep the pH level at a healthy balance.
Therefore, with every soft drink, candy, cake and goodie you indulge in, you are robbing your skeleton of its bone density. The calcium and magnesium the body harvests in an attempt to counteract this acidic environment gets passed through your kidneys, where it can also contribute to kidney stones and exits your body through your urine.
To prevent losing your bone mass to dietary causes, simply avoid consuming any white flour, processed sugars, added sugars, soft drinks, sweets, candies, breads, or any other ingredients that are made with refined carbohydrates.
In addition, certain superfoods, like broccoli, cabbage, celery and other dark green leafy vegetables help keep the pH balance in a healthy equilibrium. You need to get plenty of calcium and magnesium from healthy sources such as organic, plant-based vitamins. You also need to supplement your diet with various sea vegetables, which are naturally alkaline. Those include seaweed, kelp, and many others. Sprouts are also an awesome superfood choice.
Blueberries have been shown to shield the brain from stress, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. Research has also shown that diets rich in blueberries significantly improved both the learning capacity and motor skills.
Avocados, though considered a fatty fruit, contribute to healthy blood flow and decreased blood pressure, lessening the chances of developing hypertension, which can lead to a stroke.
Deep-water fish, such as salmon is a wise, freshwater fish choice. It’s abundant in omega-3 essential fatty acids, which are essential for healthy brain function.
Nuts and seeds are good sources of vitamin E, an important vitamin needed by your brain to stave off declining cognitive functions. Cashews, peanuts, walnuts, sunflower and sesame seeds and almonds are all great choices.
Whole-grain breads, brown rice, and oatmeal also contribute to a healthy brain by reducing the risk for cardiac disease. By promoting a healthy heart and improved blood flow, the brain is sure to thrive via excellent oxygen and nutrient delivery through the bloodstream. Complex carbohydrates also supply the brain with a steady stream of glucose that enhances brain function.
It’s important to avoid simple carbohydrates often found in junk food because the glucose gives the brain a short-lived sugar high, often followed by a crash that makes you feel hungry and tired.
Freshly brewed tea also has potent antioxidants, especially the class known as catechines, which also promotes healthy blood flow. Since black teas do contain caffeine it’s important to use it sensibly.
Dark chocolate has powerful antioxidant properties, contains several natural stimulants, which enhance focus and concentration, and encourages the production of endorphins, which helps improve mood. Again, moderation is the key.

Whether you are a fan of vegetables and super foods or not it is essential that you include them in your diet. There are a number of benefits to including these healthy foods into your daily diet. Super foods are packed with nutrients and contain vitamins, minerals, and many other nutrients. Here are 6 healthy super foods you should include in your diet.
1. Berries
Berries are toward the top of the list for healthy foods because they are packed with antioxidants to help protect the cells from damage. They also contain a great deal of Vitamin C and soluble fiber. A common worry with aging is short term memory loss, which blueberries can help prevent.
2. Broccoli
Broccoli is certainly not among the top of the list for many people when it comes to super green foods. But broccoli is one of the healthiest greens you should be including in your diet. It is excellent at helping prevent cancer and is great for boosting your immune system. This can help you fight off the common cold and stay healthy.
3. Garlic
Although garlic often gets overlooked, numerous studies have shown that a regular consumption of garlic can lower our blood pressure. On top of lowering our blood pressure, it also prevents the blood from being overly sticky and decreases the LDL cholesterol. While LDL is the bad cholesterol, it helps increase the good cholesterol, HDL cholesterol.
4. Spinach
Spinach is another super green food that may not taste the best but is something you definitely want to include in your daily diet. Lutein is one of the best foods for preventing cataracts, which is a large part of spinach. Another benefit to spinach is that lutein helps prevent age related macular degeneration, which is the leading cause of preventable blindness.
5. Tomatoes
Tomatoes are something that taste good and are extremely healthy for you. There are high levels of lycopene, which is a powerful antioxidant to help protect the cells in our bodies from damage.
6. Turkey
Turkey is among the top meats you will want to include in your diet. It is one of the leanest protein foods and is low in calories. Another thing it contains is selenium, which has been found to inhibit cancer development, improve the immune system, and assist the metabolism.
7. Spirulina
This ancient blue green algae my look unappetizing but it packs a real nutritional punch. This microscopic food contains large amounts of protein, vitamins, mineral sand is easily absorbed for instant fuel. It is naturally low in fat and sugar and provides a large assortment of phytonutrients as well.
These are just a few of the best super foods you can and should include in your daily diet. You can benefit greatly from them by increasing your immune system, providing you with more energy, and preventing a number of diseases.

Although fitness waters are available in a vast array of different brands and come in the form of bottled water or in powder form, they all have one thing in common. Fitness waters are designed to quench your thirst and prevent dehydration while supplying energy to your body via added minerals, vitamins and electrolytes, which are contained within them. Fitness drinks advertise sustained energy levels by added powerful antioxidants that are designed to protect you against fatigue.

Goodness only please

Fitness drinks are aimed at those who lead active and physical lifestyles, whether it is on the treadmill at the gym, fighting for gold at an Olympic games or just trying to lead a healthier lifestyle. However, they are not restricted to this market. They taste good, contain no caffeine and offer a healthier alternative to sugars.

However, fitness drinks can contain quite a few calories – anything up to 130 calories per 20 ounce bottle, and unless you are an athlete and your workout burns a significant amount of these calories, be careful. You may prefer to choose a fitness drink like Skinny Water, which contains no calories.

The Body

Everyone knows that what you put into your body has a direct impact on your health this is why added nutrients in our diet is so essential today. Fitness drinks are one way of giving your body nutrients through liquid intake. However, one drink goes further in the sense that it offers you a way to lose weight while working with your body to maintain fitness and health. This product is Skinny Water, and it helps suppress appetite while regulating metabolism and keeping blood sugars steady. There are three important factors needed for losing weight.

Skinny Water contains two ingredients, which have proven very beneficial to maintaining good health. These are Super CitriMax and ChromeMate. Very scientific sounding names, but the low-down is this: Super CitriMax is a natural and safe product that does not contain calcium potassium. It is a fruit extract appetite suppressant, which helps the body reduce fat production without interfering with the nervous system.

ChromeMate helps the body produce the proper amount of insulin in the body as well as maintaining healthy amounts of blood sugars and correct cholesterol levels.

Most conventional drinks, like sodas, contain high levels of sugar, which not only affects your metabolism but also affects the body’s ability to burn calories. It makes good sense to avoid sugar-laden drinks and concentrate on fitness drinks that contain no carbohydrates or calories.

At the start of a diet, we usually eat considerably less and this affects our blood sugars. This may cause dizziness and weakness and it is not good for our overall health. The body then starts to crave sugar in order to get the blood sugar level back up again. Skinny Water helps to control blood sugars and keep them at a safe level.

Another factor, which plays a role in burning calories, is your metabolism. If it is low, you will not be burn all your calories and this is a contributor to weight gain. Skinny Water helps prevent this happening. Firstly you are not taking in any additional calories and secondly it helps burn those that you already have already taken in.

A stitch in time…

You body loses water very quickly, 1-2 litres per hour during exercise. The fluids we lose through sweating contain essential electrolytes, which need replenishing. However, our body can only consume a certain amount of replacement fluid at one time. The solution to this is to drink fluids that contain electrolytes like potassium or sodium. These help one’s body absorb more fluids and support re-hydration at a cellular level.

Let’s look at the benefits of Skinny Water. It contains electrolytes and it quenches your thirst while keeping the body hydrated during exercise. It contains naturally derived sugars that help your body burn fat in a natural way while reducing sugar cravings. It also suppresses one’s appetite, which prevents overeating. Skinny Water keeps blood sugars level and boosts your metabolism.

Skinny Water boosts your immunity because it contains powerful antioxidants like vitamin A, C and E. These protect you against fatigue and soreness.

Skinny Water can leave you feeling refreshed and full of energy whether you are physically active or not and they come in a variety of flavors suited to individual tastes which are also suitable for vegetarians or vegans.

Another piece of information worth noting is the following: even if you are not active in the gym or on the track, Skinny Water can still help you lose weight. Taken half an hour before a meal, the ingredients in Skinny Water help to control your hunger and curb your appetite to prevent overeating. This is extremely helpful for somebody that is looking to curb his or her appetite.

We all know that we should treat our bodies better than we do sometimes. But, more often than we would like, that is easier said than done. Some of us tend to try to burn the candle at both ends, so to speak, and a little to often. Despite our good intentions we can, occasionally, fall victim to a wide variety of temptations that are not too good for us.
One of these temptations is eating in a hurry because we are starving Marvin’s. In moments of weakness, our old diet habits shift into auto pilot mode and propel us into taking the path of least resistance. We succumb easily to fast and convenient foods because it’s easier not to plan ahead. I am guilty of that too, from time to time. You can do yourself a huge favor by learning to shop differently for food.
How about when we feel we must work harder, more hours, and more often than we like, or had planned? When we put those extra efforts into our work life, and sometimes our recreational life too, we end up short-changing ourselves on sleep. Not getting enough rest or relaxation can be something we have a hard time making up.
As a culture, and on the average, we tend to fall into old social pressure habits. We try to make up for our lack of stamina by fighting our body’s stresses with too much caffeine, using herbal supplements, energy drinks, and often combine these with almost no physical activity. We fool ourselves into thinking there is a quick fix for our lack of go-power somewhere.
So, when you hear about the two new latest buzz words called ’super foods’, and how they can help make you feel better you are all ears. Unlike other diet fads that have come and gone throughout the years, eating a diet high in a wide variety of super foods really do have a lot of healthy stay power. They are not likely to fall out of grace any time soon due to lack of results, as they really do have healthy enhancing benefits.
Congratulations, if you are making a real conscious decision to include more of them in your daily diet. However, you will have to do more than just drink a cup of green tea every day, or eat a piece of fresh fruit once in a while to get the full effect of erasing, or reversing, the damage done over many years.
Eating and drinking differently with the intent to get the healthy effects you are looking for takes a certain amount of dedication on your part. You have to understand that going this route will not be a quick solution. Don’t make the mistake of viewing these foods as boring, or as an unsatisfying, diet food plan. Look at it as a complete dietary lifestyle change.
Take small steps as you learn, and until you are feeling more confidant and secure in your new choices. Get comfortable with the idea that this may be a lengthy road you are taking. See it as a happy, ongoing journey of ever learning. Lower your expectations in how long you think it might actually take to reach your goal.
With that being said, technically, the term ’super food’ includes most all foods in their whole, raw, and unprocessed form, with a few exceptions. Here are just a small few of the miracle health foods to incorporate into a healthy diet plan.
Fruits and vegetables: Eat them freshly harvested when possible, and raw or uncooked. Steaming or stir-fry is acceptable, and considered lightly cooked. Frozen is next best, and preferred over canned. These plant foods are are full of photolytic compounds, antioxidant vitamins, minerals, fiber, and enzymes.
Oils: Fish oils found in cold water fish are high in heart, brain, and joint healthy omega-3 fatty acid oils. Coconut oil is a saturated plant oil that is necessary for optimal health. Try to find a coconut oil that has not been treated with solvents or heated to extract the oil. Olive oil is nutritionally best, although stronger tasting, when consumed as extra virgin. Extra virgin is less refined and higher in vitamin E. A mostly monounsaturated oil.
Nuts: Are chock full of minerals, and have vitamin B-9 (folate), vitamin B-3 (niacin), vitamin E, protein, fiber, and iron. They are higher in monounsaturated oil than polyunsaturated.
Sprouts: Are rich in vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and protein. They are one of the most nutritionally complete of all foods. They are considered a living food because, even after their harvesting, they continue to grow slowly and the vitamin content increases upon refrigeration. They can be fun to grow yourself, and there are many different types of sprouts.
Green tea: Is considered to be the most nutritionally superior of all teas, although other varieties of teas do contain healthful properties as well. Green tea is especially high in antioxidants called ‘polyphenols’. This substance has recently been found to reduce the health damaging effects of HFCS (high fructose corn syrup). It is best, however, to avoid the commercially distributed product varieties and brew your own.
Flax seeds: Is a good plant source of omega-3 fatty acid, a different fat chain of omega-3 than fish oil. A photolytic compound called ‘lignans’ found in flax seeds is also a good source of fiber. Flax seeds are nutritionally better for you than flax seed oil. Grinding the seeds is preferred, as they are very small and are better absorbed by the body. A pepper mill works great for this, and you can eat the ground seeds on cereals, salads, and more.
Tomatoes and carrots: Are a few exceptions to the raw is better than cooked way of eating fruits and vegetables. One theory explains that more of the available photolytic antioxidants like ‘lycopene’ in tomatoes, and ‘beta carotene’ in carrots are released in the cooking process by breaking down the plant cells.
When it comes to fluid intakes, eliminating processed beverages high in caffeine, sugar and artificial sugar, and alcohol is a very helpful move, that has far reaching health benefits. You will be amazed at this one technique alone!
Outside of raw milk, fermented drinks like kombucha tea and kiefer, fresh juiced juices, or home brewed teas water should be, by and large, making up the bulk of your main fluid intake. It should be around three fourths of what to be drinking each and every day.
Don’t forget to add a bit of unrefined salt to your kitchen salt shaker. It is much higher in trace minerals than the cheaper, grocery store variety of refined salt. Increased water intakes calls for adequate salt ratios.
Expect some of these diet changes to taste a little differently to you for a while. It helps to ingrain in your mind a positive mental picture, in that these foods are way better for you than processed. Before long, you will begin to notice they actually do taste, and satisfy, better than refined, processed foods. You can season with fresh or died herbs if you like, to enhance the flavor of these foods even further.
Again, please don’t forget to drink plenty of water with your new diet plan. Water should be considered the ’super’ body fluid solvent to maximize your new super food diet results.
