Before the popularity of the acai berry gained notoriety we had only vitamins A, C and E consumed by drinking orange juice or taking vitamin supplements. But today, we are not talking about just small preventative measures taken, but a real blow to sickness and disease, which has taken the form of antioxidant rich functional health beverages that many consumers swear by in their quest for health and wellness.
Currently, the antioxidant gaining the most attention the Acai (pronounced ah-SAH-ee) berry which is known as a super antioxidant. The acai berry is a small dark blue fruit, similar in size to a blueberry or small grape but with less pulp, that grows in clusters of berries on acai palm trees. The acai fruit is popular among health food enthusiasts because it is high in many important vitamins and minerals, including B vitamins, Omega-3 fatty acids (such as Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9), and anthocyanin/anthocyanidin phytonutrients which are members of the flavonoid class of antioxidants.
The dark purple berry, which tastes something like a blend of berries and chocolate, supposedly contains 10 to 30 times the flavonoids contained in red wine. Traditionally, Brazilians used the fruit to treat stomach disorders and skin conditions. The fruit is highly unstable when picked and rots easily, so it is rare to find the acai fruit whole when you are not in the region where they are grown. Outside the tropics the fruit is usually found in either juice or pulp form. This wonder food is purported to fight cancer, control cholesterol, increase energy, improve physical intimacy and helps weight loss. Some people even use acai as a facial astringent because the fruit has high anti-bacterial properties.
Cupuacu (coo pwAH soo) is referred to as The Taste of the Amazon. Cupuacu is a member of the chocolate family. The indigenous Indians have used the fruit as a primary food source for years. The Cupuacu fruit grows on the Cupuacu tree, which is a small to medium tree in the Rainforest that belongs to the Cocoa family. This fruit is known for its creamy exotic tasting pulp. The pulp is used throughout Brazil and Peru to make fresh juice, ice cream, jam and tarts. The fruit ripens in the rainy months from January to April and is considered a culinary delicacy in South American cities. The seeds contain a sweet-smelling, white butter, which can also be used to make excellent-quality white chocolate.
This particular fruit, Cupuacu has not gained the national attention as the acia berry or yerbe mate. Its benefits has not been publicized nor is it contained in many health related beverages, supplements or foods. Cupuacu contains unique antioxidant phytonutrients called polyphenols. You may be familiar with polyphenols from other common medicinal plants, notably green tea and grape seeds. Cupuacu also contains at least nine other known antioxidants including Vitamin C and Vitamin A, making it a well-rounded antioxidant cocktail. The top three reasons to make Cupuacu part of your diet include: the increased ability to fight disease and cancer, more youthful and healthier looking skin and hair and it reportedly lowers cholesterol levels.
Indigenous people, as well as local communities along the Amazon, have cultivated Cupuacu as a primary food source for generations. In former times, Cupuacu seeds were traded along the Rio Negro and Upper Orinoco rivers where indigenous people drink Cupuacu juice after it has been blessed by a shaman to facilitate difficult births. The “beans” are utilized by the indigenous Tikuna people for abdominal pains.
Cupuacu also has a unique type of polyphenols called theograndins. Theograndins have potent antioxidant activity and provide cardiovascular protective and immune supportive benefits. Yet, everyday brings new findings of other advantages of theograndins that are unique to cupuacu. For example, in tests on some types of cancers, theograndins were uniquely effective at killing colon cancer cells. Research is underway to determine whether cupuacu or isolated theograndins have a place in modern cancer therapy.
Yerba mate (pronounced yer-bah mah-tay) is also one of the ingredients in this functional health beverage in addition to Aloe Vera Gel Pulp, CoEnzyme Q10, Cat’s Claw Bark and over 100 other nutritional ingredients. Although yerba mate has not enjoyed the same level of media exposure as the acai berry has recently, it certainly commands respect and attention. Yerba mate is a tea like beverage popular in Argentina. The word mate derives from the word Mati that names the gourd that is used to drink the tea.
It is widely held that this tea contains mateine, a chemical cousin of caffeine that has subtly different properties. Though similar to caffeine in its ability to provide energy, it can have a milder and safer delivery to the body. Although, yerba mate is not known to interfere with sleep cycles, it does have a tendency to balance the cycles, inducing more REM sleep. Many people report that they require less sleep when using mate; usually such an experience is accompanied by a deeper, more relaxing sleep experience.
Yerba mate is replete with antioxidants that help the body fight free-radicals. Yerba mate may assist with the following: increased mental awareness and elevated mood, weight loss, increased ability to fight off disease and increased energy and vitality.
Additionally, yerba mate helps relieve allergies. It has been noted that yerba mate is helpful in opening respiratory passages to overcome allergy symptoms. It has been shown to reduce the severity of some allergies and hay fever. Yerba mate works by stimulating the adrenal glands to produce corticosteroids, which help suppress the inflammation and immune response due to allergies.
Does yerba mate exhibit anti-cancer properties like green tea? Aside from its significant antioxidant effects, research from the University of Illinois suggests yerba mate could in fact be a potent ally in cancer protection. Labs around the country are starting to test the Acai to find what possible medical use it has. There is no doubt that this amazing fruit has a promising future in the medical world. While more study needs to be done to prove the effectiveness of some of these claims, there is no doubt that adding any of one of these plants or fruits to your diet will improve your overall and future health!
The health beverage industry is a booming market. It is currently producing over 4 billion dollars in sales and is forecasted to grow to over 10 billion in the next few years. The growth is being fueled by one thing: consumer demand. It should be no surprise why so many companies are jumping on the functional health beverage band wagon.

What is in your popular Lo-Carb Energy Drink? Carbonated Water Your Lo Carb Energy Drinks are comprised of Carbonated Water, and a series of weak additives that mostly are used as food preservatives. The only plant derived things in a Monster is a Root Ginseng Extract, and Guarana Extract. The Guarana Extract is not listed in any measurement. There is a reason why you can buy these “Energy” drinks on sale at convenience stores…there is no real energy in the drinks. It’s carbonated water with chemicals and two plants. The Caffeine is not from natural sources. Scientifically speaking, you can not have real energy without “Carbohydrates!” Figure that one out when the Carbs are listed as 3g on the can I am reviewing. The fake sugars trick you into thinking you have energy, and then the crash comes! The “Natural Flavors” are not listed by ingredient…so what is natural about the flavor. Well look at the masking sugar substitutes, and you will get the base of the flavor along with corn starch. The Energy Blend The “Energy” is comprised of Glucose, and then L-Carnitine, which are both pretty basic and easy to come by. The 2500mg of “Energy” also includes Inositol, something that scientific research deems as non-essential for human nutrition. Further, Maltodextrin is basically corn starch, and is also listed as part of the “energy blend.” Maltodextrin is absorbed by the body immediately and along with the fake sugars and processed caffeine is part of the reason for the “crash” you receive about forty minutes after you drink one of these products. Glucuronolactone is the last of the “Energy Blend. Rumor goes on to say that Glucuronolactone was banned due to several brain tumor-related deaths back in the 1970’s. No scientific proof of this, but why even try?!!! The Ingredients Below are all of the listed ingredients in a very popular Lo Carb “Energy Drink.” We are what we eat. What we eat should also be fuel. The FOOD we put in our bodies should produce energy. What we put in our body should be nutritional. We are all comprised of cells. I think we forget that we are a living, breathing organism! Remember, 1/4 of what we eat keeps us alive (it does not necessarily keep us healthy), 3/4 of what Americans eat keeps the pharmaceutical companies, big government, and doctors in business! Glucose Glucose is a ubiquitous fuel in biology. It is used as an energy source in most organisms, from bacteria to humans. Glucose is a primary source of energy for the brain, and hence its availability influences psychological processes. When glucose is low, psychological processes requiring mental effort. Citric Acid Citric acid is a weak organic acid, and it is a natural preservative and is also used to add an acidic, or sour, taste to foods and soft drinks. In biochemistry, it is important as an intermediate in the citric acid cycle and therefore occurs in the metabolism of virtually all-living things. It can also be used as an environmentally benign cleaning agent. Where does the Citric Acid come from in this beverage? No citrus fruits are listed. Natural Flavors What are these natural flavors? No fruit or berries are listed as an ingredient on the can???Taurine Taurine is an organic acid. It is also a major constituent of bile and can be found in the lower intestine and in small amounts in the tissues of many animals. Taurine is necessary for normal skeletal muscle functioning…but humans naturally produce Taurine. Sodium Citrate It possesses a saline, or mildly tart, flavor. Trisodium citrate is chiefly used as a food additive, usually for flavor or as a preservative.Color Added Where is the color added from? No ingredients or dye’s are listed???Panax Ginseng Root Extract “Panax” is the “Genus” of the Ginseng Family. Ginseng has a healing effect, as well as a stimulant quality. Caffeine In humans, caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant, having the effect of temporarily warding off drowsiness and restoring alertness. The caffeine in these drinks either originates from the ingredients used or is an additive derived from the product of decaffeination or from chemical synthesis. Sorbic Acid Sorbic Acid is a natural organic compound used as a food preservative. Sorbic acid and its mineral salts, such as sodium sorbate, potassium sorbate and calcium sorbate, are antimicrobial agents often used as preservatives in food and drinks to prevent the growth of mold, yeast and fungi. In general, the salts are preferred over the acid form because they are more soluble in water.Sucralose Sucralose is a zero-calorie sugar substitute artificial sweetener. Sucralose is approximately 600 times as sweet as sucrose (table sugar),[2] twice as sweet as saccharin, and 3.3 times as sweet as aspartame. It is manufactured by the selective chlorination of sucrose (table sugar), which converts three of the hydroxyl groups to chlorides.Benzoic Acid This weak acid and its salts are used as a food preservative. Benzoic acid is an important precursor for the synthesis of many other organic substances. Benzoic acid is used to make a large number of chemicals!!! Benzoic acid is present as part of hippuric acid (N-Benzoylglycine) in urine of mammals, especially herbivores. L-Carnitine In living cells, it is required for the transport of fatty acids from the cytosol into the mitochondria during the breakdown of lipids (or fats) for the generation of metabolic energyNicotinamide Nicotinamide has demonstrated the ability to block the inflammatory actions of the body. It is also known to help with skin disorders such as acne. It is not a naturally occurring substance. Acesulfame Potassium Acesulfame potassium is a calorie-free artificial sweetener. Acesulfame K is often blended with other sweeteners (usually sucralose or aspartame). These blends are reputed to give a more sugar-like taste whereby each sweetener masks the other’s aftertaste, and/or exhibits a synergistic effect by which the blend is sweeter than its components.Sodium Chloride Sodium Chloride is commonly used as a food preservative…it’s salt. Glucuronolactone Glucuronolactone is a naturally occurring chemical produced by the metabolism of glucose in the human liver. It is an important structural component of nearly all connective tissues. Glucuronolactone is also found in many plant gums. It has received some notoriety due to urban legends that it was a Vietnam War-era drug manufactured by the American government. The rumor goes on to say that it was banned due to several brain tumor-related deaths.Inositol Is an isomeric alcohol found in the Vitamin B complex. There is no evidence that it is a dietary essential for human beings.Guarana Seed Extract Guarana may indeed boost energy, since its main ingredient is guaranine, which is chemically identical to caffeine.Pyridoxine Hydrochloride A crystalline compound, decomposing at about 208°C; used in medicine in vitamin therapy. Also known as pyridoxal hydrochloride; vitamin B6 hydrochloride. Your body does not absorb this chemical, and we hope it gets peed out! Riboflavin Riboflavin is the principal growth-promoting factor in the vitamin B complex. Also known as vitamin B2. Riboflavin is involved in a wide range of oxidation reactions, of fats, carbohydrates, and amino acids. Maltodextrin Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide that is used as a food additive. It is hydrolysate produced from starch and is usually found as a creamy-white hygroscopic spray dried powder. Maltodextrin is easily digestible, being absorbed as rapidly as glucose, and might be either moderately sweet or almost flavorless. It is basically a Corn Starch with no nutritional benefits. Cyanocobalamin It is Vitamin B-12, and is the easiest to crystallize and therefore easiest to purify after it is produced by bacterial fermentation. Cyanocobalamin usually does not even occur in nature, and is not one of the forms of the vitamin which is directly used in the human bodyNote: Remember that certain processing, as with sugar and white flour, tends to significantly reduce B vitamin content. Certain things such as “Corn Starch” can drain the power of any Vitamin B Complex.

Antioxidants. Are they important?

Yes, they fight free radical damage that can lead to disease. They also support the immune system and they promote overall wellness, energy and vitality. Categorically, antioxidant protection is the best protection for human health.

Over the recent years the health industry of “super fruit” juices has skyrocketed! You may have heard of companies like MonaVie Acai juice that launched in 2005 with a network marketing business opportunity and the Acai berry that was featured by Oprah and other media sources. These health juice companies have found a super fruit such as Acai berry from the Amazon and bottled it into their own formula to sell. There has been similar success with other super fruits such as Noni, and Aloe Vera. The newest player of the bunch is a company called eXfuze. The company launched their product in September 2008.

This new “juggernaut” relates itself to doing what the mulit-vitamin did in the vitamin industry by creating a “one-size-fits all” approach. They created the first multi-botanical nutrition supplement using seven of the best super fruits combined into one.Do you struggle to find time to eat healthy? This is the question this product answers. With less time and more stress of everyday life and not to mention less nutrition from fruits and vegetables then in the past, this product serves the purpose of being a quick health supplement that offers amazing benefits.

These seven super fruits are:

1. Gac -from Southeast Asia2. Acai -from South America3. Goji -from Himalayan Mountains in Tibet and Mongolia4. Noni -from Pacific Rim and South Indies 5. Fucoidan -from brown seaweed and algea 6. Mangosteen -from Thailand 7. Seabuckthorn -from Central and Southeast Asia

Seven+ also has:

1. Pomegranate2. Aloe Vera3. Blue Aguave Nector4. Wild Blue Berries5. Concord Grapes6. Structured Water (Higher ph/ Alkaline)

Almost sounds too good to be true doesn’t it? I found some of the benefits touted by the company to be amazing.

You should try the eXfuze seven day challenge to see which of the following benefit’s you may receive:

• Cleanses and “detoxes” the body* • Offers increased energy and stamina* • Aids cellular regeneration* • Fights damaging free-radicals* • Promotes quicker healing* • Supports the immune system* • Possesses anti-inflammatory benefits*• Contains fatty acids called Omega 6 and Omega 9. Research shows that these two fatty acids help maintain healthy cholesterol levels* • Contains Xanthones which may help reverse the signs of aging* • Supports blood glucose control* • Contains vital amino acids along with trace minerals, which aid in muscle regeneration and contractions* • Promotes healthy joint mobility and function* • Aids appetite control* • Improves mental focus and clarity* • May help regulate emotions and calm nerves*• Enhances gastrointestinal health* • Supports the cardiovascular system and good circulation*

*These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Seven Plus contains:

• Vitamins A,B complex, C & E • Antioxidants • Phytochemicals • Xanthones • Magnesium • Calcium • Iron • Iodine• Zinc • Trace Minerals • Beta Carotene • Amino Acids • Lycopene • Omegas 3,6,7,9 • Folic Acid

Now the next question I get allot is, ok but what is the ORAC value of brand X drink? So I did some research on the ORAC value of the popular drinks and here is what I found here:

• EXFUZE ORAC = 50,000 per bottle!!!!!!• Young Berry Juice ORAC = 32,750 • Mona Vie Juice ORAC = 18,500 per bottle • Xango Juice ORAC = 13,750 per bottle • EB Tahitian Noni Juice ORAC = 12,500 per bottle • Himalayan Goji Juice ORAC = 10,000 per bottle • Silver Sea ORAC = 2,000 per bottle

The ORAC value of eXfuze is 50,000 per liter bottle. Thats pretty impressive isn’t it. eXfuze accomplishes this by being a mulit botanical therefore providing a full spectrum of nutrition. The name eXfuze originated from the process of creating Seven+. The “eX” represents the extracts that are taken from each botanical, ensuring that only the most nutrition-rich parts are used. “Fuze” designates the “fuzing” of all of the ingredients into a formula that is nutrition dense and second to none.

Another point that sold me was that there is no bezoate as a preservative, no sugar added, no sodium. This translates into using a natural vegetable preservative that is cold pressed to give you the highest amount of nutrition.

What Does It Cost?

Seven Plus costs $45 dollars per bottle retail. If you are able to sign up as a preferred customer, or sign up as a distributor you can get wholesale pricing for $30 a bottle. I will be writing a separate article about becoming a distributor as well.

How Long Does It Last?

The company recommends a daily serving of ¾ to one ounce a day. Which means one bottle will last you roughly a month. If you are familiar with other companies you will realize how much cheaper eXfuze’s seven plus is considering most recommend 2-4 ounces daily, and cost upwards of $180 a month! With the additional super fruits and lower cost it was truly a win-win situation that I could not pass up.

What Does All This Mean?

November 17th, 2005 marked the beginning of a great future for many. The first bottles of Kyani Sunrise and Kyani Sunset were shipped and as of yet, more than 300 people have joined on to Kyani to become distributors of these unique products.

So what differentiates Kyani products from the rest of the field of health supplements? One word: blueberries. Not just your ordinary, every day blueberries, but the Alaska wild blueberries or otherwise known as the “Super Blueberry.” In the bestselling book, “Fourteen Foods That Will Change Your Life – Superfoods RX,” Dr. Steven Pratt identifies blueberries as one of the three major “Superfoods” that will change your life and your health. Why? Because blueberries contain more disease-fighting antioxidants than any other fruit. Dr. Pratt goes on to say that wild blueberries usually contain more antioxidants than cultivated varieties. The Alaska wild blueberry sits at the top of the blueberry kingdom. Because of Alaska’s harsh freeze/thaw climate and having to protect itself from the 24-hour-a-day summer sun, the Alaska wild blueberry has up to 10 times more antioxidants than cultivated blueberries. Kyani Sunrise also contains, with the Alaskan wild blueberries, pomegranate, wolfberry, Noni, Aloe Vera, and other berry juices.

Brunswick Laboratories, a nationally-respected testing facility, compared the antioxidant content of Kyani Sunrise against two popular nutritional supplement drinks. The result? Kyani Sunrise’s ORAC (antioxidant level) rating is twice as high as the next nearest competitor! You can see this study and more on the http://www.erx3.com website.

Along with Kyani Sunrise, which an ounce is taken per day in the mornings, Kyani offers a product for the end of your day. Kyani Sunset is an Omega-3 powerhouse. Sunset combines Alaska wild salmon fish oil with tocotrienols (pure Vitamin E). Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids are the two polyunsaturated fatty acids that are good for you. But Omega-6 (which are common in most foods we eat) and Omega-3 fatty acids are only beneficial as long as they’re consumed in balanced amounts. Omega-3 fatty acids can help maintain healthy cholesterol levels, maintain a healthy circulatory system and maintain a healthy respiratory system as well as play a role in supporting breast and colon health. Taking the soft gels daily will be like the equivalent of two servings of salmon per week. Dr. Steven Pratt says, “I tell my patients that blueberries are one of the three major SuperFoods, along with spinach and salmon. If you learn nothing else from SuperFoods Rx, remember to eat blueberries and spinach most days and salmon…these three foods alone will change your life and health.”

Although Kyani doesn’t plan on releasing a spinach product any time soon, two out of the three isn’t bad at all.

The officers and directors are seasoned business experts and entrepreneurs with a wide range of successful business experience and associations. It is the goal of these individuals to create a network marketing company that will become the standard against which all other companies are judged in this important emerging industry.

Kyani engaged several world-renowned experts, scientists, and consultants during the formation and development of this exciting business venture. Extensive investments in both finished inventory and raw goods have ensured the continued availability of the Kyani products for the marketplace.

Becoming a Kyani distributor is a fun, affordable way to help you realize the financial freedom that many dream about. You can secure your position today and start your own Kyani business. Most people spend their health trying to gain wealth and then later in life spend all their wealth trying to regain their health. Start gaining your health and wealth today with Kyani.
